The supervisors categorize employees on a performance basis when calibrating their performance to estimate their progress. For instance, Band A can be explained as excellent performance, Band B can be elaborated for good performance, Band C stands for employees who surpass expectations, and finally, Band D & E are used for poor or below-the-expectations performances.
Performance bands are employed in organizations to evaluate and categorize employee performance and proficiency in the workplace. With performance bands, supervisors can peruse and interpret data to make critical decisions and become familiar with the weaknesses and strengths of the employees. Knowing the flaws facilitates employees to address them as soon as possible while strengthening their values.
In other words, the faster the shortcomings are addressed, the more efficiently the gaps are filled, thereby promising success, performance, and productivity. Higher employee productivity ensures a better and positive work culture and also lowers the employee turnover rate, thus, bringing down business operation costs to a substantial extent.
