What is an Experience Letter?

An experience letter is an official document issued by employer to employee highlighting the skills and experience of the employee in the industry. Generally an experience letter is asked by the employee when they join a new organization.


Components of Experience Letter

An employer must be aware of what a experience letter should include. 

An experience letter must include the following components:

1. Your job role/position in the organization

An experience letter must contain what was your job role/position in the organization. It is necessary to mention the job role so that employees could easily get a new job.

2. Date of joining the organization

.The date of joining or the date when you start working in the organization should be mentioned in the experience letter.

3. Skills and experience gained

An experience letter must contain the skills, knowledge and experience an employee gained during his tenure. This is the core purpose for which an experience letter is required.

4.Date of resignation
An experience letter must contain the date on which an employee has given a resignation letter to his employer. It acts as proof for the new organization that the employee is no longer associated with his old organization.

5. Date of issue of letter

An experience letter must contain the date of issue of the experience letter to validate its authenticity.
