What is an agile organization?

An “agile organization” is a set of strategies and tactics that helps organizations advance from traditional business models. The intent is to allow an organizational change in response to turbulent market conditions, new technologies, or new business models. It requires adaptive leadership, a continual improvement mindset, and new ways of working together.

This means that decisions are made based on what will benefit customers the most, not on what is easiest or cheapest for the company.


  • Team focused: It is also built around a network of teams who work together to get things done. There is no centralized hierarchy in an agile organization; instead, teams work together to accomplish goals. This allows for much more flexibility and innovation than a traditional hierarchical structure.
